Madaba, The City of Mosaics
Visit Madaba – best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. The city is home to the famous sixth century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, which has two million pieces of coloured stone.
Mount Nebo, Pilgrimage Site for Early Christians Early Christians from Jerusalem made pilgrimage to Mount Nebo, where a small church was built in the fourth century to commemorate Moses’ life. Today the basilica houses a stunning collection of Byzantine mosaics.

Petra, One of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The Rose City of Petra is a historical and archaeological city, described by UNESCO as “one of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage.” It flourished in the first century AD, when its famous Al-Khazneh (Treasury) was constructed. You enter the city through the Siq, a dark narrow gorge flanked on both sides by soaring cliffs. The Siq leads to the massive façade of the Treasury, carved out of the sheer, dusky pink rock-face, and dwarfing everything around it.

Wadi Rum, the Valley of Light
Wadi Rum is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. It has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures leaving their mark in the form of rock paintings and temples. Khaz’ali Canyon in Wadi Rum is the site of petroglyphs etched into the cave walls depicting humans and antelopes dating back to the 8th century BCE. The village of Wadi Rum itself consists of several hundred Bedouin inhabitants with their goat-hair tents and concrete houses. Much of the 1962 movie Lawrence of Arabia was shot in Wadi Rum.
